Graduation

Driving down memory lane
going 70 Miles per hour
but it feels like only 15.
The wind blows through my hair
with not a care in the world
as I daydream about my present place
walking down these red and black hallways
for the last couple days

When the drama falls
and it doesnt matter anymore
on who called you what
just all the laughs that we'll keep
knowing that were only down to months and weeks
and its been going by so fast
pep rallies and senior rahs,
being together as a class,
having fun is what we do best

Walking down the aisle with the same kids
we all went to school with
for the last twelve years
tears roll down our families cheeks
us with goosebumps,
we're more relieved
everyone is in the stands
music plays from the band
all we think of is "this is it"

The principal makes the speech
we all think back to thank our moms
and kiss their cheeks
its been over an hour
we'll one by one go up to get that class flower
being announced
in our cap n' gowns
switching the tassle left to right
we can't wait for life
