heart-shaped map

the darkness of the sky,
how beauties the night;
the batter hits the ball high
over the fence
triggering my heart
the beating fastens
as the field lights
glisten,
"I love your eyes"
i smile,
listening to the announcer,
his arm reaches around my seat
i couldnt think of a better way to spend this night,
just him and I.

Its the bottom of the ninth,
i chill-
as he pulls me in tighter
i smile harder,
we won.
his face glides into mine
his lips are so warm.
fireworks spark in the sky,
and he holds my hand tight.
the finale,
loud and bright.
the audience gives their applause,
our hands clap.
thinking to myself,
i've found the treasure
on his heart shaped map

Their Perfect Night

Happiness surrounds the room
Smiles and people-
Flower scented perfume
Dancing in the arms
Of two,
It's their big day-
Sparkling eyes and red wine;
Toasting to their happiness,
To their love,
That their lives will be great.
As they pop open the champagne-
Kissing in the moonlight,
Beautiful weather,
Candles all around,
And rose peddles sprinkled on the ground.
Hand holding,
Their first dance-
She looks gorgeous-
He looks dashing.
This night was perfect,
Their last dance,
Everyone watched
As they danced and pranced
In the moonlight,
This was their perfect night

The Knock at the Door

Hands together
Praying to keep him safe
As he fights for us,
In a world where freedom has a chance,
And sometimes you only get a glance of life.
They hope to never get a knock at the door,
Cramping his mother`s beautiful smile-
Wrecking his father`s spirit.
They hope to never get a knock at the door,
From the man in the uniform.
He looks so classy,
Trying to stay strong
But he's hated his job for so very long.
He knows the news-
It's been so long
Since they've seen their son.

Breaking hearts,
Creating tears
"He's in God's hands"
The man whispered in fear
"He was a great friend.
His mom, in disguise,
With watery eyes-
"My son...?"
Silenced.
Gulped.
"Was a great man,
But in my heart-
I know that I'll never see him again."
